Trip - Beyond the Shoreline: Two Ways to Explore Cape Canaveral’s Fishing Grounds on June 8, 2026

We booked a fishing charter for our family of 6 as an excursion during our recent cruise that stopped at Port Canaveral, and Captain Mike proved to be the perfect guy for the job. He was flexible with our late-arriving cruise, and he put us on the fish right away. He was patient with the kids, kept our hooks baited with live bait, gave great information about the fish we caught, and also pointed out dolphins and manatees that we encountered along the way. While we weren't the most skilled group he's taken out, we caught a bunch of fish--seven different species including a nice spade fish my son was able to get in the boat (pictured). We had a great time, and Captain Mike gets my highest recommendation for anyone looking for a charter in the Cape Canaveral area.

Captain Atwell put us on fish when none were being caught by any other boats. He is an expert for every type of fishing in the area and makes the experience fun for all. High end fishing poles/reels and boat was in great well maintained condition. Highly recommend for kids & no kids!

Michael was great. We did a 8hr tour. And he was on top of it all 8hrs none stop. We got 3 kings, red snappers we couldnt keep, sharks. We were impressed and we will book again. We would Highly Recommend!!

We caught some Snooks in his secret 'honey hole', which we were happy to bring back. Captain Mike worked hard to keep things going. Four of us fished and I recommend limiting it to three, two would be perfect but it was a great time anyway and Mike was a great guy!

Caught cool fish and sharks! It was a great half-day trip with lots of action. Would definitely do it again and recommend it to everyone! If you want to have a good time with a good captain, Captain Mike is your guy!

It was a great day out on the water with Captain Mike. He clearly knows where to go - and with the stormy ocean, where not to go. Crossing the lock on the Banana River is one of the highlights of the day. We'll be back and will go with Mike.

My wife, brother and I had a great time with Cpt Mike. We caught more than we could take home, and we were all beginner anglers in general. His enthusiasm and thoughtfulness made the trip a fulfilling experience, anticipating what we needed and guiding us. I could not recommend this charter more and I will do more.
